On Easter morning there were various parades from each of the brotherhoods in the maritime district. They also prepared for the big parade later:
Here's a bunch of the weird sightings we've had: (See below for explanations/conjectures)
A: this seems to be the giraffe door..who else would need one so tall?
B: parade preparations. It seems BYOC (bring-your-own-chair).
C: scary trees..they look pregnant but apparently don't want a hug!
D: apparently they use so much oil here, there's a special oil-container-recycling-bin! (or for the oil itself? I wasn't quite sure...)
E: Um..no idea.
F: In the celebrations they have some interesting costumes. They have a strange similarity to those of a scary time in U.S. history..but apparently there's no connection. Here they are not malicious, just part of the costume--different colors even! They then remove the hoods to celebrate Christ's resurrection on Sunday morning. Here's some more info.
G: a nice door to nowhere in particular
In one of the churches, we saw a painting, lit by beautiful stained-glass light. Wonderfully focused on Christ.
There's yarn-bombing and then there's yarn cross-stitching macro-style. Here the 'cloth' of choice appears to be chicken wire :)
And last but not least--wooden animals.

| The sun was indeed bright on that Easter morn (but it seems the one drummer didn't have much to do, so decided to text someone) And valencian bagpipes! |
