Germany Tour, Part 1: Landesgartenschau

My mother-in-law returned to Germany for the first time in 14 1/2 years! We showed her around where we live and went to visit relatives all over the country! (Good thing Germany is relatively small..however, it still made for quite a lot of train riding :) )

Here are some highlights from the State Garden Show (Landesgartenschau) in Eutin, Schleswig-Holstein.
The decorations at the beginning were bee-themed. How about a bee-see-saw?
Flowers! (+ swiss chard?? well, it is pretty...)
Recycling as plant containers
Strange + unusual things all over the place -- knitted watering can cozies, wooden motorcycles, ginger roots as decoration, puff ball scarves + cool individualized blown glass (molded to fit their wooden holders)
Our lovely Canadians :)
Beautiful Linden Trees
A multi-sided sundial at the castle + some very serious thorns
As we were at a castle, we needed some aristocratic photos ..in suglasses ..on a canon :)
Gotcha!
F's mom tried out all of the lying furniture..they got progressively better :D
Greek yoga? Whatever :)
What kind of bird is she trying to scare away? I'm pretty sure any crows would be shivering under the bed at this point...
Bonsai!

oh look! someone's being silly! (I know, I know..that never happens.......)
" 'SUP, dude" + "ta da!"
Group photos! (Look closely--I really am in every one :) )
Ah, relaxing on a beautiful beach :)
Life is good :)

p.s. I think I've pretty much gotten used to my bald or now very-short-haired reflection, but my shadow? That still surprises me :)

Looks like you had a great time! My favorite photo is the one of you floating in the air in the neoclassical rotunda. :)
