Here's why my F is wonderful (here's just the list for today--it is by no means the exhaustive list):
When we walk, we hold hands.
And when he's holding my right hand, he plays with my ring.
(When we were freshly married, I found that a bit odd, but now, if he's on a trip, I miss it. And then I twist my ring on my own finger and miss him.)
Today on our walk through the woods, I stopped to gather cute baby acorns.
F is great because, even though he smiles bemusedly when I do such Waldorf-y things, he helps me gather.
See that empty plate? Well that's all that's left of the delicious gnocchi-mushroom-sauté he made for lunch. Yet another proof of his wonderfulness
He was gathering on the other side of a tree and came back with acorns---AND a small bouquet of beautiful, delicate purple flowers. For me :)
And, what do you know? They are exactly the kind of flowers that I had admired when my family was in Europe years ago..how did he know? No idea..but he's great :)
They're looking a bit tired after the walk
And he listened to my high school memories that this walk down the 'lane' awakened. (Such as my taking a "Peacemaking" course through virtual high school, because it didn't work for me to take Psychology....or my joint birthday/graduation/clothing-swap party with my high school friend, M...or another friend M's mom getting excited about my love of Indian food and making me some! yay :) )
He reminds me to call my family and he even dialed for me today :)
And to continue with the memories--Here's me wearing the dress from said clothing swap to Homecoming, freshman year at university!
While we were on our walk today, I was already thinking about writing this post..and then I just listened to this awesome poem by Anis Mojgani (thanks, Mom, for introducing me to him and his work!) A Love Poem for his wife.
