Monthly Projects, Part 2

Monthly Projects, Part 2 (**Thanks for all the suggestions + ideas!**)

Here's are two sketches from January.
As I predicted, I didn't get it in every day, but I did get quite a few (especially of our Christmas tree, because when I'd remember, it was often already dark outside and then voilà! Tree inside!)

And here was a tree I painted for my classroom. We made a good-deed-paper-chain before Christmas and then I decided we could decorate a good-deed-tree :)
And the bottom picture is a fairly Waldorf-y page that became the covers for a book of pictures that my students drew.
The skeleton is already almost completely covered in good deeds from my students. (We write down when we help or others have helped us :) )
The yellow is the beginnings of a star in the sky :)
At the moment this is the plan for the rest of the year. We'll see how it works out:

February -- write a poem a day
Here's the one for today about our kitchen clock: (With this and a few others I feel myself A.A.Milne-inspired. Thanks parents for awesome bedtime poetry readings and memorizations!)
Time
The clock in the kitchen is quite often slow
No matter how often you right it
It slips and it dallies till you're ready to go
If you're wanting the bus--have you missed it?
The hands march around, each at their own pace
Plastic vegetables lining the frame
The longest would win if it were a race
Far slower the shortest hand's game
The broccoli sits at half past eleven
The pepper at quarter to three
The tomato lies at half past seven
At half past twelve, the peas
The clock was a gift on our wedding day
It has hung internationally
It got cracked in the move, but it ticks night and day
Allbeit not punctually
March -- take a picture daily (could be of the following motifs: myself, nature, my junk piles (erm...that could be scary! or just amusing))

April -- tangle daily, based on the Zentangle® Method
"It's an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. "Zentangle" is a registered trademark of Zentangle, Inc. Learn more at zentangle.com."

May -- branch out to other media and practice my watercolor or acrylic skills.

June -- While my hair is (still) long(ish), a new hairdo a day (no promises that I would wear it to work though..or even have time to try it out that early :D)

July -- organize/declutter/try to downsize one thing each day (exhilerating!)

August -- cook a new dish every day (I like the idea! But I intentionally put it in summer when I'll have more time without school work)

September -- learn to play an instrument OR at least practice daily..that would already be a good thing for me and my fiddle :)

October -- draw something daily (some suggestions have been: a hand/foot/body part; random object from the minutest of the minute to the largest of the large; could follow a 30-day-drawing challenges such as (day 1: favourite animal, place, food, etc.: day 2: my face; usw.).

November -- listen to a new type of music OR at least a new song a day

December -- knit/crochet daily (the projects below are obviously not from December...)
Here was the first attempt at making cat ears for my carnival (Fasching) costume. I had seen a cute (and simple! that's key) hat made of a knit rectangle, sewn in half. The corners were then the ears. Here I was attempting some colorful tiger stripes and then some different colored ears (partly because I just didn't have enough grey..and partly because it would have been fun!)
In the end I just crocheted yarn onto a wire frame for the ears and then crocheted my tail out of a rope that had already been hand-knitted. (Confused yet? :-P )
Reading challenge -- I'm already working on that with a very manageable goal on Goodreads: 20 books this year..defs going to reach that :) perhaps I should up the ante?
