Another Birthday

My dear F just had his birthday.
In honor of said festive occasion we decided to make our own hot pot (East Asian fondue with a spicy broth),
and we had all sorts of fun things, like shrimp and salt-and-pepper-squid,
baby corns, funny skinny mushrooms, wantons, spring rolls, etc.
Delicious!

And here are some birthday haikus (a three-line Japanese poetry form containing 5, 7 then 5 syllables) I wrote in his honor (also fulfilling my poetry goal for the day ;) ):
a birthday haiku
hot pot, wantons and spring rolls
salt and pepper squid
and one in German:
Geburtstagshaiku     (=birthday haiku)
und Schwarzwälderkirschmuffins     (=and black forest muffins)
jetzt achtundzwanzig     (=now 28)
Gotta love those German words. Rockin' the syllables. And here are the aforementioned black forest muffins (or cupcakes? the dessert in small-cake-form)
They looked somewhat like a reclining piece of cake (which, I guess, they essentially were!) :)
