My Birthday in Washington State

After driving off into the sunset (shown to the left..it looked cooler in real life :)... ) and a lovely scenic drive through ID, we arrived in WA to visit F's brother and his family. The kids were cute and--like almost all kids are--they were excited to have new people to play with :).

On my birthday we went to get world-famous ice cream. I got chocolate-peanut-butter (of course :) ) Yum! M followed us outside for the picture so she got to join.

We went to feed the ducks and the kids didn't always get the concept of throwing bite-size pieces... maybe they thought that ducks could unhinge their mouths like snakes? Yeah..entire slices of bread just don't quite work.

We went and played on the playground. We each found some fun toys to play on!

Then a dog and his owner came to visit. For some reason the dog found E particularly delicious. It was really hilarious!

E would sit on the ground and the dog would jump on him, licking his face, his nose and inside his mouth...I guess whatever ice cream E had eaten was the dog's favorite flavor :). E would just laugh and laugh at this--providing perfect opportunity for more excavation of his oral cavity.

Occasionally E's parents would pick him up, afraid that he was getting overwhelmed or was hyperventilating from laughing so much...but what would E do then? He would plop right back down on the ground and wait for the dog.

Even if the dog had momentarily gotten distracted by M and licked her, whenever E was back on the ground, he would leap at him and resume his vigorous licking. We laughed and laughed!

Then after watching Rio and eating some delicious Black Bean Soup, the kids were put to bed and we went out for a night on the town...but my style, so nothing too crazy :P

I just cut more of my hair off at Great Clips. They did a great job, and now it's even shorter! Woohoo! Lots of fun.

The next day we drove up to Calgary to see F's family, and the journey continues...
