Some more of those musings

I guess that is the title of this blog..and at least that's what it started out to be. The pondering of wonder and of the world. And I guess, in a way, it still is.

Currently I ponder Germans and their Germanness quite a bit. Or I rejoice in seeing family and cool places..

And I am also awed by and grateful for being married to F. For waking up Saturdays, not to an alarm, but to cuddling which often turns into a tickle fight :). For his unending and delicious creativity with the contents of our fridge. For random laughing, mock-suspicious glances and funny noises/sound effects. 'Murr?' is a common one. I even have it on a t-shirt, thanks to F's dad.

And nature--that'll still do it to me. It still fills me with wonder. We went walking in the freshly fallen snow last week.
We haven't had anywhere near the amount my family has had in MA (you may have seen it on the news, or you can see some pics on my mom's blog, Lori Notes), but it's still lovely.
This past Friday it was cold and brilliantly sunny. After the 1st graders went in to knit (hooray for Waldorf!), I didn't have a class to teach, so I took photos. (Yes, macro is still the mode of choice)
But back to being married to F..it's just great. We have certainly had some low points, but I had cause to reflect on our marriage recently. We were hanging out with some of F's fellow students and we asked one of the couples what some high points were in there relationship. I don't really know what prompted the question, but then, when I was thinking about our relationship, I thought that the bad was more like discreet points and the good is more wave, swell-like.
Usually we ride a good wave for quite a while, then life takes a dip down, but then it comes up again. It always comes up again.
