While in UT, we also went camping with the relafits (yup, sometimes we call them that, although not because there is an inordinate amount of fit-throwing or anything ;) ).
This particular campout is called "Attack of the Squirrels" because the first year of this tradition enjoyed some rather proactive squirrels, intent on having their nature to themselves, thank you very much. The squirrels apparently pelted our poor relafits with acorns. And pinecones (if memory of the story telling serves me right... :) )

My adorable cousins were building little houses and gardens and fun things (out of pinecones ;) and such). I definitely did this as a kid -- and kind of still do on my nature table in my Waldorf classroom :)
In any event, the squirrels were either more gracious in the preceding years (including this one) or we had permanently driven them out :)

Because black-and-white looks cool... :)
|
Ta-daaa! We made it to the falls :)
We enjoyed hiking, eating, hearing exploits of times past, playing games, discussing books, and having a wonderful family time :)

An indecisive tree..which way do I want to grow? this way -- no, that way--no, that way!
Here's a final macro shot of some gorgeous leaves :)
I'm so grateful for my family!
