White Houses Beach (= Weissenhäuser Strand)

A long time ago, in a far away land, a young couple went to the seaside.
Okay, while it was almost half a year ago, that's not all too long a time ago. And, while it is a far away land for most of my readers, for us it was only about an hour's drive. And of course, the young couple was us :)
(**German side note: In case you forgot this is northern Germany, there was this large sign saying "Moin" which, although it may sound like "Morning",  is the all-purpose greeting and can be used morning, noon and evening -- no problem (this confuses other non-northern Germans as well) :D There are even semantic differences in whether you say "Moin" or "Moin, moin", but that's another story...hooray for (northern) Germans!)

The name of this seaside location was Weissenhäuser Strand or "White Houses Beach". We enjoyed the water park, the seaside + the clever trash bins :)

Here are a few pictures of the lovely seaside:
And these trash bins: Gotta love 'em.
They say things like "Seldom 'filling' so happy", "Ashes 'in' my head", " I feel so empty!" and "Feed me!"
In fact, this one is spoofing one of the first (if not the first) German pop songs I'd ever heard as a young, impressionable learner-of-German. "Ich wär so gerne Millionär" (I wish I were a millionaire). Not only did I hear this but we watched a very bizarre music video including singers (the lead singer of which had an impressive orange afro of sorts) stuffing his face with lettuce after they'd been walking around a cardboard grocery store with pantyhose on their heads...as I said, bizarre.
"I wish I were a trash-onaire"
And, thanks to the wonders of the interwebs, I've found it for your viewing pleasure. Their repeated "Geld, Geld, Geld, Geld" means "Money, money, money, money"...yup. The afro is more of a sticky-uppy-mullet.

(**2nd German side note: Mullet in German is Vokuhila -- or rather the beginning syllables of the words VOrne KUrz, HInten LAng, meaning literally 'short in the front, long in the back'.. Love those Germans and their literalness!

I guess in English that'd be like Shofroloba (We should start calling mullets Shofrolobas..definitely the new thing! NO, please don't have them. But if you see them, feel free to refer to them suchly ;))

We got to practice some archery.
Yeees, that first one is a false start...haha :)
We got all crazy with some chocolate milk shots (yup, it's really just chocolate milk -- we're silly like that)
Here F scared off the gulls
And I also did some yoga (and almost fell over ... ;) )
And here's some more of the seaside,
our feet flying through the air...
...as well as standing in the sand (as well as evidence of others' smaller feet...)
And them being washed away...(okay not the feet, just the prints ;) )
A cute little sand castle (sadly not mine, but defs something I would do :) )
Some macro!
We had a nice jaunt into town
and enjoyed the church.
And here's one more of the sunset:
