Day 4 turned out to be the end

I awoke and was feeling fine, though my heartrate was more consitently up. I was 90 while my mom was 63..and I was also feeling some shortness of breath. My mom thought the heartrate thing was a little worrying. Perhaps so. So I agreed to end my fast of 3 1/2 days. 10pm Tuesday to 10am Saturday. Not bad

10:15 drank 1/4c OJ, ate 1/4c applesauce...but then wasn't hungry for anymore. In fact I still didn't feel hungry for a while..

12:00 I felt something that might be comparable to hunger so I ate the other 1/4c of applesauce

1:15 lunch. huh. we had homemade pita bread with falafel, lettuce, tomato, tahini, feta, scallions, plain yogurt, yam--delicious! but I only made myself a 1/4 pita...because I wasn't really hungry for more. And had a teaspoon of yam. It was all tasty..but the roof of my mouth was still feeling sore, so swallowing wasn't always so fun. However, I really enjoyed the food. Tho I don't know if I was really hungry to begin with...ah well.

Over these past few days I've lost some weight (not surprisingly) which looks and feels great! I just hope I can maintain a bit when I'm eating again..so I want to try and savor my food--enjoying it slowly--and then just not eat as much of it.

I'm a little worried about eating heavy German food..but we'll try for small portions and eat lightly for the other meals :)

It'll be interesting to see how my body takes it, and as I ramp up to more food..aaah digestion occurs in my stomach! I can feel it :) A new feeling after a hiatus.

Thus ends my saga of the water fast. It's been fun (and I'll probs do it again occasionally after my mission), but now is the time to physically prepare for my mission. So Frankfurt, here I come!
