I have started a water fast.
This may not be immediately connected to wonder--but I assert that it is. I am only on Day 1 of this fast, but wow--it's amazing! I read someone else's blog about it and was very encouraged. He talked about the enlightenment of the mind and how open and freed up it can get. I already feel more capable and excited.

I was originally only going to go for 7 days--and I think I may still only do that, but--once I get back from my mission, methinks I'll be straying onto this path again. Such possibility and clarity.
And water is, of course, your friend. An even better friend than before. And I don't feel so weak as with normal fasts--which makes sense--because I have water. I feel full of water--not so much water-logged as water-filled. It is a happy, gentle feeling. I'd already had 8 glasses by 3 o'clock!Things are going well, although I have just recently acquired a bit of a headache. Not really surprising--because I haven't eaten since 10 o'clock last night. My last piece of food was a Gala apple. A fine choice for a last, I think. Even then it tasted sweet--almost too sweet.
Perhaps my body was already in detox mode (that being the original purpose for this fast). However, now I look forward to this clarity of mind. I pray for its help and God's help as I prepare for my mission and my talk for church that I'll be giving on Sunday.
Awake!
