Visit to the US: Oregon, Part 3: Cathedral + Temple

We visited a cathedral park in Portland and the LDS* temple -- both beautiful in different ways.
The bridge for which the cathedral park gets its name
Here I scampered up one of the support walls -- and then remembered (too late!) that going up is the easy part....ah well, deep breathing + careful footwork made the descent possible:)

Further on the bridge's gothic arches continue, getting smaller and smaller
Perfectly picturesque + just asking for some yoga!
Snazzy place :)
 An homage to the bridge
A fun sculpture honoring ....some industry? I can't remember which...and you can see my yoga is catching ;)
Aren't my parents adorable? Hooray for family walks.
Um...don't even think about trespassing on these logs...They're MY logs! ;)
And now for a change of venue: the LDS temple in Portland.
And its reflection:
Lovely doors
Hooray for family!
And now with macro!
I love to see the temple!

*LDS is an abbreviation for Latter-day Saint -- which refers to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Just like Paul in the New Testament calls Christ's disciples 'saints' -- Similarly we are called saints -- not because of any particular holiness, but rather because we are all on this journey together -- all imperfect people trying to follow Christ.
