Off the coast of Stralsund is the island, Rügen. Here we are on the island, looking back to Stralsund.
One of the special highlights of Rügen is the "tree-top-path". At the base, a sand-creation:We ascended up a gently-sloping path to a height among the trees.
On the path through the treetops, there were fun little things to walk + balance on.
Then there was a taller tower that allowed us to gently ascend to a height above the trees.
A wonderful vista
On Rügen there was also a nice little church -- unfortunately, closed :-/A fun playground with a sunken ship
Hooray for trees! (My posing reminded me of men in high heels in Baroque paintings..see below ;) )
Louis XIV, painted by Hyacinthe Rigaud
Beautiful forests
communing with the treesand posing with the roots :)
Here, on the white cliffs (of the same 'make' as those of Dover + Callais),
one of our favorite Romantic painters, Caspar David Friedrich, painted this:
And I posed as she (at least in color + hairdo)
Then a last view across the water
Isn't the forest beautiful?
