We got to visit my wonderful sister-in-law and her husband, visit his work in downtown Seattle + hang out with their adorable children :) (but they stayed home for this outing.)
In front of the Museum of Pop Culture (which in itself is already incredibly funky)

there was this famous sculpture by Claes Oldenburg (who likes all things small-made-large (like this giant shuttle cock in Kansas City, Missouri)+ made of strange materials (like the
soft toilet)). This particular thing is a typewriter eraser (I had to look it up...some of you may have recognized it immediately :) ) And of course there is the Seattle Space Needle nearby.
There was also a wonderful playground
with amusing quotations + instruments + fun things.
